Rivergrove is a Tree City USA

The City of Rivergrove is proud to receive the designation as a Tree City USA community for the second year. This distinction, which is awarded by the Arbor Day Foundation, recognizes communities who demonstrate a commitment towards effective urban forest management. In order to receive the Tree City USA designation, Rivergrove met the program’s four core requirements, which include maintaining a tree board, having a community tree ordinance, spending at least $2 per capita on urban forestry, and hosting an Arbor Day celebration.

Trees are assets to a community when properly planted and maintained. They help to improve the visual appeal of a neighborhood, increase property values, reduce home cooling costs, remove air pollutants and provide wildlife habitat, among many other benefits.
